Family Planning

Florida Department of Health in Hardee County

The Florida Department of Health in Hardee County offers Family Planning services and counseling about planning a pregnancy. The department also offers pregnancy testing, baby spacing, and supplies of both hormonal and non-hormonal birth control methods including Natural Family Planning. Referrals are provided to patients for methods not available in the clinic. The Title X funded clinic also provides abstinence education and basic infertility counseling.

Methods of Birth Control

The Family Planning program provides contraceptive supplies either on-site, by prescription, or referral for the following contraceptive options:

  • Barrier methods (Condoms)
  • Combined hormonal contraception (Birth control pills, Patches, Contraceptive Ring)
  • Progestin-only hormonal methods (Depo-Provera Injections, Mirena IUS, Nexplanon hormonal implant)
  • Natural Family Planning (Ovulation prediction, Cycle Beads)
  • Paragard IUD and Skyla IUD by referral
  • Male/Female Sterilizations (Vasectomy or Tubal Ligation) by referral
