The Florida Department of Health in Hardee County offers Family Planning services and counseling about planning a pregnancy. The department also offers pregnancy testing, baby spacing, and supplies of both hormonal and non-hormonal birth control methods including Natural Family Planning. Referrals are provided to patients for methods not available in the clinic. The Title X funded clinic also provides abstinence education and basic infertility counseling.
Methods of Birth Control
The Family Planning program provides contraceptive supplies either on-site, by prescription, or referral for the following contraceptive options:
- Barrier methods (Condoms)
- Combined hormonal contraception (Birth control pills, Patches, Contraceptive Ring)
- Progestin-only hormonal methods (Depo-Provera Injections, Mirena IUS, Nexplanon hormonal implant)
- Natural Family Planning (Ovulation prediction, Cycle Beads)
- Paragard IUD and Skyla IUD by referral
- Male/Female Sterilizations (Vasectomy or Tubal Ligation) by referral
